[sl] The Teen Grid Has Been Redistricted
As detailed here and here, the Global Kids Estate has been redistricted this weekend as part of a teen-grid wide reorganization to group like islands with like: teen with teen, Linden with Linden, and adult with adult.
This means we can FINALLY learn what organizations own islands in the teen grid. So with a little photoshop magic, I created a map detailing all adult-owned islands in the teen grid. Keep in mind, most are closed - only for teens who work with the organization or school (Ramapo)- or seasonal (KidsConnect) or not yet opened to the public (British Council) or even abandoned (Unreal?).
And when it comes to all of those other islands, outside Global Kids, Eye4You Alliance and the PacRim Alliance, I can only ask one question. Who are you? And what are you doing/will be doing in TSL? (Okay, two questions. Sue me...)

Hi Barry,
I can let you know what the British Council are doing - we have three islands on the map, and will be ready to open at least one to the public in May - we are currently working with Kim & the Magicians, who are developing our island, creating some iconic representations of Great Britain (I won't tell you what yet - keep it a secret).
Once we open, we'll be encouraging our teenage students of English from all around the world to join Teen Second Life, giving them a rich setting where they can further their learning of the language.
We also hope to encourage native speaking teens of English to join us too - anyone who'd like to meet uo with kids from around the world, and help them communicate together.
We won't be teaching there, at least not at first, but there will be a variety of cool places for kids to hang out and get to know others, as well as educational games, events, and an element of mystery too.

Unreal is a commercial sim that someone forgot to move on time. It's been moved up with the teen-owned PIs now.
This does also stamp on Jon Daikon's claim to own SummerTech Island and his insistence that it's not an educational sim.
Also, I have a better map picture for you to doodle on.
(MISSING IMAGE is the default texture my map system falls back on when I don't have any better texture.)

Katharine, Thank you for the information and the nice map. Can I ask how you could get the entire map into one image?

I took a snapshot of my in-world grid map, which is generated using the SL map's textures. The texture keys and sim names/positions are grabbed by a libsl thingy I wrote whenever the map image changes.
