[staff] November Staff Reflections
We here at GK hope you had a great Thanksgiving [for those of you in the U.S.]! Read what we have been doing over the past month, starting with a quick overview: Rik looks at creating a new youth program, Jason speaks about his time here so far at GK, working as a NYC Civic Corps volunteer and also gives a background to the program, Amira talks about a potential new initiative she traveled to Geneva to discuss and Rafi looks at adult versus youth learning agendas.
Read the reflections below for a more in-depth description:
- In “"Transmedia Challenge" Game Show for New Media Education”, Rik dreams up another wacky youth program, this time involving a game show on transmedia navigation.
- Jason talks about what he has gained during his first two months interning at Global Kids in his post “My experience so far at Global Kids.”
- Amira talks about her experiences in Geneva, where she traveled to discuss the possibility of an international development initiative getting some legs in her post, “Travel to Geneva for National Development Leadership Initiative”.
- In “What is the New York City Civic Corps?,” Jason clarifies the duties and goals of NYC Civic Corps members.
- Rafi takes us through his thoughts about how to reconcile youth versus adult agendas through learning in his post “Adult Agendas, Youth Resistance and Understanding Why Teens Do Afterschool”.
As always, thanks for reading!
