Playing 4 Keeps

What I learned

Well I had a great time at P4k knowing different characteristics that each players have towards a game and combining them together to make a great game. Also it was a great experience for me getting to know what other people had to show us with their game designs.

An amazing year with P4K

Through out this year, I learned many things. While at p4k, my aspect on gaming and how games are made changed. I learned that it don't only takes one person, but a whole team to make a great game. I learned that a team of game makers take diferent responsibilities for doing things such as drawing or makeing a story lines. I believe that learning about games and how its made is very important because it gives you an aspect about why a game maker did what they did on there game. In the future when I play a game that I believe is good, I will be able to add on to my opinion. For example, I could talk about background use, and how I think the person went about making that game.

What I learned

Over the course of 6 weeks I learned many things. I learned that you can used video games as a tool for global awareness creating challenges. When these challenges are completed people from all over U.S can play, and it instantly becomes easy to spread my ideas across the internet. Also learned a lot about the proccess of game making itself such as how to develop an idea, how to build on that idea, collaberating with other people, and presenting that idea to groups of people. These are valuable skills that can apply to a range of jobs, and can help me in all aspects of life. Aside from learning these valuable skills I learned other things on global issues such as the effects of global warming, war, and media literacy. I can also use this knowledge to help me in everyday sitautions, they may even influence my social and political descions.

Simplistic Dominance

As a teengager experienced in technology and gaming I was oblivious to all the subtopics in the world of media. Playing4Keeps was a internship I participated in this year that brought me knowledge and insight through an obscure lens. It taught me many things that I can emulate into my everyday life. Such as group work, computer programming, and job environment behavior. The global kids was the first of my many internships and it helped me advance in my educational and techonligical path.

Playing 4 Keeps

I really enjoyed myself in Playing 4 Keeps. I'm glad that I had the chance to get to know everyone and also, the chance to work with them on game development. This was such an amazing experience that I would love to go again this fall.

Playing 4 Keeps

In the P4K program, I learned very important organizational and communication skills. These skills will be very useful on the collegiate level of schooling. When I am in college, I will be able to use my aquired organizational skills in order to complete assignmnts given to me and even create my own clubs and teams. P4K has taught me these skills through various game design challenges that we were allowed to create. In the future, I will also be able to use communication skills in the working environment. Stressful interviews and hated colleagues will not exist with the communication skills that the P4K program has taught me. P4K has taught this skill through various group exercises in which I had to work with other youth with whom I was not well acquainted.

P4k has found me

Thanks you P4K.I learned how to make games and how to judge games I've used what I learned here to change my perspective on the world outside of my home.

My highlight and favorite moment of the past year was going to the global kids confernence. This is my favorite moment because it allowed me to see all the work of  other kids in p4k and see old friends that I thought were long gone

p4k

In P4K, I learned how to judge someone's games.  It was not an easy task because I only play games and never made comments about them.  When I was judging some games, I usually made a choice of 2 or 3-way tie.  I was so excited that we could design and judge our own challenge.  In the future, I will judge some other things using the way that I did for judging games.  My greatest moment was the trip to E-line Media.  We use Gamestar Mechanic to make games, and E-line told us a lot of things (such as new sprites and some secrets) about GM.  GM is a great program for making some 2D games.  It was great for me.  I wish P4K has a program that lets us to make 3D games.
