Second Life Professional Development

After two highly successful years developing educational programs in Second Life, Global Kids decided to take what we knew about both global issues and virtual world education and share it with others.

Global Kids’ Second Life Curriculum covers everything an educator or student would need to know to use Second Life, whether on their own or within an educational setting. At the same time, it teaches global literacy skills. Future modules will educate students about science and other subject areas.

The curriculum is designed to be used by both self-learners and within the context of a formalize classroom or afterschool setting. Currently it exists exclusively as a text-based curriculum with 133 lessons plans, organized within a larger framework of nine levels. Each level is composed of modules which, in turn, are composed of individual missions.

To download a sample set of all missions and modules within the first level of the Second Life Curriculum, or to get more information about our upcoming professional development trainings, please sign up for our Global Kids Second Life Curriculum Announcement list below.
